In 1997, Smithfield Properties acquired the site formerly known
as "Homemaker's" and commissioned a recognized local architect to design a residential building. While the zoning at that time
permitted residential high-rises, a series of rezonings were proposed
that delayed development of our property. Ultimately, we received
authorization to proceed with this project.
With the exception of our property, the current zoning plan prohibits
residential high-rises in the area bounded by West North Avenue,
North Halsted Street, West Division Street, and the Chicago River.
SoNo will be seen as an icon of Chicago architecture. SoNo's
design, by award-winning architect Laurence Booth, FAIA, will give
owners unparalleled, unobstructed views of Chicago's skyline
and Lake Michigan.
SoNo will be the premier Lincoln Park condominium residence.
This is your opportunity to live SoNo.
